The Lazy Pig Co are an established and leading wedding and event caterer specialising in pig roasts, lamb roasts and gourmet barbeques with a diverse selection of accompaniments, using only the finest produce and Red Tractor British meats. We use free range Gloucester Old Spot pigs and Cotswold lambs, they are prepared for us by the reputable Barry the Butcher of Stratford upon Avon. We have just introduced a variety of new options to our menu for 2014, Louisiana low 'n' slow deep south style sweet and smokey pulled pork, slow roasted pulled pork with homemade onion gravy, both served from metre wide paella pans, breakfast selections and new desserts and bilinis. The history of the hog roast
Sus scrofa domesticus, or the domestic pig, a subspecies of the wild boar, evidence from the Tigris basin in eastern Turkey suggests the pig was domesticated from the wild boar as far back as 13,000 BC, wild boar were indigenous to Western Europe and were widespread by the Middle Ages, this is the time the spit roast method of cooking was commonly used by way of mounting the pig on a spit pole supported by a timber framework then digging a pit and burning sticks and brash in it under the pig, this was a slow process taking up to 14 hours with the pig having to be hand turned every so often. Pig roasts were also very common in the Edwardian and Victorian times to feed large numbers at street gatherings and parties, todays modern hog roast machines certainly speed up and improve the cooking process!

Our first aim is to assist you with your menu choice, whether it be catering for your wedding a christening, funeral, corporate hospitality or just a get together our broad menu will cover all your requirements including gluten free and vegetarian options, we will guide you through the menu in order for you to choose the most cost effective and accommodating way to feed your guests. When we arrive on your event day, the team will introduce themselves, then set to work firing up the ovens and roasting your meat on site teasing your guests taste buds with the aromas, in the mean time the gazebo will be erected and the set up installed within it, presentation is paramount to us, every event we do is well planned, organised and presentable. Your guests will be given excellent service and the venue will be treated with respect.
The hog roast, our pigs and all meats are from British Red Tractor farms and suppliers, we carefully prepare and slow roast the meat over flames ‘we rub our pigs with olive oil and salt flakes to produce the perfect rich and crispy crackling’ the result is guaranteed moist and tender pork loaded with sweet Bramley apple sauce and savoury sage and onion stuffing on freshly baked soft bread rolls collected from our local baker on the morning of your event, coleslaw or even mustard are also great accompaniments too, either way its all a joy for your taste buds! The Lazy Pig doesn’t just offer hog roasts we do slow roasted lamb rubbed and studded with olive oil, garlic and rosemary and served with hot sage & onion stuffing and mint sauce, an almighty beef roast with horseradish and gravy, Louisiana low ‘n’ slow deep south style pulled pork cooked in a sweet and smokey barbeque sauce loaded into soft bread rolls with spicy slaw served from metre wide paella pans, fresh gourmet canapés and bilinis, handmade salads and home baked desserts.
We offer a cost effective and efficient catering solution from as little as £3 per head and with our 3×3 metre self contained gazebo’s and timber huts, we can go virtually anywhere in the past we have catered for events in a castle, ballroom, safari park, many fields and even on a beach, we can even fit inside tipis and marquees, we love a challenge! Most of all you can organise your celebrations around us – that’s the beauty of outdoor catering – plenty of options and space to play with, we offer a hassle free way to feed a lot of people in a open and relaxing environment, catering from 30 to a 500 guests or more! Our hog roast machines are purpose built and smokeless so can be used inside or out.
We are a family run business with stacks of catering and butchery experience our reputation means everything to us, it’s a great feeling to watch all the nods of approval from customers as they tuck into our food! Our Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and Cotswold lambs are free range and British, they are supplied by an established and reputable local butcher, all our produce and condiments are sourced locally and are of the highest quality. The Lazy Pig believe in roasting our meats on a low flame for an average of 6 hours to produce a more flavoursome and tender meat. Our aim is to always satisfy your hungry bellies with our mighty roasts! Home is the Warwickshire countryside but we regularly hog roast in Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds, Birmingham and London, but we will venture anywhere in the country if needs be! The Lazy Pig will take all the sweat and stress out of catering for your special occasion wind, rain or shine and serve you squeally good food!

Everything you can think of is covered in our service we organise, set up, roast, serve and clear up removing all the rubbish for you – all condiments, sauces and disposable plates and cutlery are inclusive of our prices. If required we can source trusted organic meats and produce from our local farm supplier.
