The Lazy Pig caters for events all over the country from small birthday parties through to weddings, charity events, sporting events, corporate events and much more - we will cater for whatever you can throw at us! Our menu is diverse and exciting and offers everything you need to please your hungry guests. Our pigs are free range Gloucester Old Spots and are prepared for us by Barry the Butcher of Stratford upon Avon. We have just introduced two new options to our menu, deep south style sweet and smokey pulled pork and slow roasted pork and homemade gravy served from metre wide paella pans - new to our menu for 2014!

The history of the hog roast
Most pigs or hogs as there known, if there bred for meat are ready for cooking at around 12 months. Hog roasting dates back thousands of years and is documented in one form or another through all the different ages. There a numerous different styles to roast a pig all over the world but traditionally in Britain the pig is roasted on a spit over a flame or in a large roasting machine, the skin is scored and rubbed with salt and olive oil to create a rich golden crunchy crackling. It is common for pigs of more than 80 kg to be cooked in this country.

The traditional hog roast an absolute classic and winner!
Its the combination of crispy crackling “we rub our pigs with olive oil and salt flakes to produce the perfect crunch and flavour” the moist and tender slow roasted pork loaded with sweet Bramley apple sauce and savory sage and onion stuffing on freshly baked soft baps, or why not try coleslaw or even mustard either way its all a joy for your taste buds! The Lazy Pig doesn’t just offer hog roasts we do roast lamb with stuffing and mint sauce and an almighty beef roast with horseradish and gravy or if you’re feeling really adventurous we have our tasty deep south style pulled pork cooked in a sweet and smokey sauce with spicy slaw served from metre wide paella pans!!
We offer a cost effective and efficient catering solution from as little as £3 per head and with our 3×3 metre self contained gazebo, we can go virtually anywhere in the past we have been in a castle, safari park, many fields and even on a beach, we can even fit inside tipis and marquees which ever you prefer. Most of all you can organise your celebrations around us – that’s the beauty of outdoor catering – plenty of options and space to play with a hassle free way to feed a lot of people in a open and relaxing environment we can cater from 30 to a 1000 guests or more! Our hog roast machines are purpose built and smokeless so can be used inside or out.
We are a family run business with stacks of catering and butchery experience our reputation means everything to us, it’s a great feeling to watch all the nods of approval from customers as they tuck into our pig in a bun! Our Gloucester Old Spot pigs and British lambs are free range and are supplied by established and reputable local butcher, all our produce and condiments are sourced locally and are of the highest quality. The Lazy Pig believe in roasting our meats on a low flame for an average of 6 hours to produce a more flavoursome and tender meat. Our aim is to always satisfy your hungry bellies with our mighty roasts! Home is the Warwickshire countryside but we regularly hog roast in Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds and Birmingham but we will venture anywhere in the country if needs be! The Lazy Pig will take all the sweat and stress out of catering for your special occasion wind, rain or shine and serve you a super tasty roast!
The Lazy Pig boasts a diverse barbeque menu too serving locally made burgers, sausages, homemade kebabs, chicken, ribs, and of course a fresh and filling vegetarian menu too. You can combine any of the options together if you so wish. A selection of fresh canapés and salads and yummy desserts are also available. As a team we are always applying innovation to the business using the best equipment, experience and passion coupled with a well managed and professional service with, taste and customer satisfaction is always a priority, quality is never compromised at The Lazy Pig.
Everything you can think of is covered in our service we organise, set up, roast, serve and clear up removing all the rubbish for you – all condiments, sauces and disposable plates and cutlery are inclusive of our prices. If required we can source trusted organic meats and produce from our local farm supplier.
